How does investment with Forex Deposit work?
- It's an investment product that allows you to achieve a higher appreciation of the deposited amount in the base currency, and it also supports the conversion to an alternative currency with a better exchange rate.
- You decide how much extra finances you have and for how long. You choose the base and alternative currency.
- You will receive the payment in the currency that offers a better exchange rate at the end of the selected period.
Example of Forex Deposit (model situation)
The investor deposits the sum of CZK 5,000,000 (base currency) into Forex Deposit for 12 months and chooses EUR as an alternative currency.
The Strike FX rate was set at EUR 1 = CZK 23.60 and the coupon rate at 5.2% p.a.
Base scenario
On the valuation date (after six months), the FX rate is at EUR 1 = CZK 24.00, i.e. above the established strike FX rate.
The market did not reach the value of 23.60 on the settlement day and the deposit is not converted to the alternative currency. The client gets back his CZK 5,000,000.
The client receives his return in CZK. In this case, the client will receive CZK 260,000.
Alternative scenario
On the final valuation day (after six months), the FX rate is at EUR 1 = 23.00 CZK, i.e. below the strike FX rate.
The investor gets back the EUR purchased at the strike rate, i.e. EUR 211,864
The client receives the return in the alternative currency, i.e. EUR 11,017.
